In a emotional incident, the Vadodara Abhayam team helped a paralysed mother get back her 14 months old girl back. The mother insisted on going to her parents home due to a dispute with her in laws and they insisted on keeping the youngest daughter with them and sending the mother alone.

Giving details of the incident, a spokesperson of 181 Mahila Suraksha Abhayam Seva said, a paralysed married woman from Gotri area contacted the 181 Women's Helpline called for help and get back her 14-month-old baby.

Responding to the call Abhayam rescue team immediately rushed to the spot, convinced the the in-laws and handed over the child under the care of mother. The woman thanked the Abhayam team for help.

As per details, the woman was paralysed and had difficulty doing household work. For that she was beaten by her husband and harassed by mother-in-law. Regardless, the woman requested to stay there with the little girl for treatment. But the in laws insisted on keeping the youngest daughter with them and sending the mother alone.

The Abhayam team had explained to in laws that it was not appropriate to harass the daughter-in-law in such a serious illness instead of getting proper treatment. In addition, a small child cannot live without breast milk. Both of these are members of their family and they shall have soft corner towards them.

Thus, with this effective approach Abhayam made possible a happy settlement of the dispute by allowing the mother to take the child and making the reunion possible.
