The Ambaji temple in Banaskantha district witnessed a massive turnout of over 32.54 lakh devotees during the ‘Bhadarvi Poonam' fair held from Sep 12 to 18, according to an official statement released by the state govt on Thursday.

The devotees generously contributed more than Rs 2.66 crore in cash and over 500 grams of gold to the temple during the fair.

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) played a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of devotees, conducting 11,455 trips and ferrying more than 5.04 lakh passengers to the temple town throughout the week-long fair.

Additionally, over 61,000 devotees utilized the cable car facility to reach Gabbar Hill.

The temple authorities distributed ‘mohanthal' prasad to more than 20 lakh devotees who visited during the fair. Various voluntary organizations also contributed by arranging food and accommodation for the devotees who arrived on foot.

The government implemented a special 'plastic-free' campaign during the fair to promote environmental sustainability.

On the sixth day of the fair, the Ahmedabad-based Jay Bhole Group presented a ‘Shri Yantra' to the temple.
