As many as 1.73 lakh students from Ahmedabad city and district will appear for Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) Class 10 and 12 examinations beginning from Monday.
Around 1.07 lakh of these are Class 10 students. Of the total 65,000 students appearing for HSC exams, 52,000 will appear for general stream and 13,000 will appear for science stream. So far, the board has allowed 115 students from Ahmedabad city and district writers to assist them in exams.
"As many as 59,285 Class 10 students will appear for exams in 34 examination centres in the city. As many as 30,493 students appearing for HSC general stream will give exams in 29 centres, while 7,652 science stream students will appear for exams in 10 exam centres," said Ahmedabad city district education officer Hitendra Padheriya.
Ahmedabad rural district education officer R R Vyas said that in Ahmedabad district, 75,713 students of Class 10 and Class 12 students will give their exams in 67 centres. "If the students who are yet to pay their school fees request us to allow them to appear for exams we will issue hall tickets," he said.
