Gujarat SPCA along with forest teams caught two crocodiles from two different places in Vadodara city and district. One was caught from Dabhoi and another from Karelibaug area of the city.

As per details given by Raj Bhavsar from GSPCA, they received the call from one Meet Patel from Thuvavi village in Dabhoi taluka about a crocodile strayed near Bhootnath temple in their village. The volunteers of GSPCA along with Dabhoi forest department member reached the spot and rescued the four foot size crocodile and handover to the forest department.

The second call comes from Shweta Chauhan local councillor about presence of crocodile in Tulsiwadi of Karelibaug area. As per the information around three crocodiles strayed inside the drain passing nearby and climbed up towards the residential area in search of food. Sometime ago a girl was washing utensils when a crocodile climbed up and she shouted for help. The locals rushed and drove away the crocodile. They also claimed to see a big crocodile inside the drain.

The councillor gives a written application and acting on that, GSPCA and Vadodara forest department team placed a cage at the spot and successfully caught the six foot size crocodile. However the big one is yet not traced and a cage is put there at Tulsiwadi.

The crocodile was brought to forest department by the team as the locals had a sigh of relief and thanked them.
