Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel has said that vaccination work will now continue on Sunday also due to surge in Covid-19 cases in the state. He said that 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh people are being vaccinated everyday through more than 2500 vaccination centers across the state. He appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination which is safe and effective for the fight against the Covid-19.

According to reports, fresh cases of Covid19 continue to rise in the state. According to the state health department, Gujarat has recorded the highest ever single-day vaccination.

Total 2 lakh 2 thousand 529 persons were vaccinated in the state yesterday. More than 34 lakh have been vaccinated in the state till now. Out of these, 28 lakh 36 thousand 204 persons have been vaccinated for the first dose, while 5 lakh 92 thousand 916 persons have been vaccinated for the second dose.

Meanwhile, 1565 new cases of Covid-19 reported during the last 24 hours, while 969 patients have been discharged from the hospitals after the recovery. Total 2 lakh 74 thousand 249 patients have been recovered from Covid-19 till now.

At present, Gujarat has 6737 active cases of Covid-19, out of which 69 patients are on ventilators. Maximum 504 new cases reported from Surat.
