Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel declared Surat as Open Defecation Free (ODF).

Surat Municipal corporation organised an event in which CM dedicated developmental works and houses under Mukhyamnatri Awas Yojna, of more than Rs 203 crore in Surat.

As the government committed of providing houses for all, CM handed keys of 1,601 houses to beneficiaries in Surat and she also held computerized draw for 2,584 houses. Dedicated flyover bridge, water distribution center and 27 tipper trucks.Under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojna, total 11,017 houses are to be built in Surat.

She said that “Our dream is to make Surat a slum-free city having modern facilities, to see the smile on the faces of people belonging to economically weaker sections when they get low-cost house is the real achievement of Gatisheel Gujarat”
