Gujarat Assembly will move a motion to support the Citizen Amendment Act(CAA) in a one day special session today. The session has been convened as per the provision in article 176 of the constitution.

The session will begin with the address of Governor followed by thanks giving motion.

One-day session will also approve a Constitutional amendment recently passed by both the Houses of Parliament to give a 10-year extension to reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. House will take up the motion to support the Citizen Amendment Act 2019 later this afternoon.

Sources reports that the budget session of state assembly will begin from 24th February. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, who is also holding the portfolio of Finance Ministry, will present the state budget on the same day. Budget session of state assembly will continue till 31st March.
