GSPCA and Vansda forest department rescued one turtle and baby Bonnet macaque from Vansda

Gujarat SPCA and wildlife sos along with forest department rescued a turtle and one baby Bonnet Macaque from a family in Vansda. The person was booked under Wildlife Act 1972 and further investigation is on in the matter.

As per details Raj Bhavsar from GSPCA and Wildlife SOS received the news on 8/07/2020 about one family illegally kept protected animals with him at Vansda in Navsari district. On 13/07/2020 Gujarat SPCA, Wildlife sos along with Vansda forest team raid the place and found one Flat Soft Shell turtle and one baby Bonnet macaque from the house of Bajirao Sudhakar (age-42) living in the old darbar area of ​​Vansada.

The team rescued the animals comes under Schedule 1 of Wildlife Protection Act and arrested Sudhakar under Wildlife Act 1972. Keeping such animals in the house is a non- bailable offense under Wildlife Act 1972. The forest department has registered the case and taken legal action.

Rajesh Bhavsar request the people to immediately inform the nearest forest department if there is any such wildlife in your house and hand it over to forest department. He said the real place of such animals is in the forest and kept them in captivity is a crime.
