Minister of State for Home Affairs inaugurated the 71st Forest Festival of Vadodara District from Kandari

Minister of State for Home Affairs Pradipsinh Jadeja inaugurated the 71st Forest Festival of Vadodara District by planting a medicinal plant of Borsali in Swaminarayan Gurukul premises at Kandari village in Karjan taluka.

Organized by Social Forestry Department, Vadodara, the event was attended by Gujarat Agro Industry Chairman and MLA Madhubhai Srivastava and senior officials including SK Chaturvedi of Forest Department and District Collector Shalini Agarwal as they also planted saplings.

On behalf of the district administration, the Minister handed over the diesel boats to the Taluka Panchayat which are useful for the rescue and relief in case of heavy rains and floods for the villages of Karjan taluka. Two boats have been arranged from the District Mineral Resources Fund at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs.

Expressing his feeling the home minister said, the Forest Festival has made a huge contribution in realising the vision of the state government of Green Gujarat, Clean Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Chief Minister of the state has transformed the Forest Festival and made it more tree-lined. The state government is also protecting the environment as a top priority.

The Prime Minister’s laying of the foundation stone of the Ram temple by planting the sacred sapling of Parijat shows that trees have a very important place in the social life, culture and religious tradition of India. He made a special request to the government employees to plant and cultivate trees in their office premises.

He gives details about the work done by the state government for protection of public health against Corona and appreciate the work of Vadodara district administration and Corona Warriors. He heartily congratulated the Chief Minister for completing four successful years of good governance.

The Minister took up the request of the Chief Minister of the state and congratulated the Department of Social Forestry, Vadodara for its approach in promoting natural tree planting by scattering seedballs on the banks of rivers like Narmada, Mahisagar, Dhadhar, Vishwamitri in Vadodara district.

He made a special request to the people and organizations to get involved in tree planting for the protection of the environment as more than 24 lakh saplings have been planted by the Forest Department in Vadodara district under the Forest Festival. On this occasion, the farmers who have done noble work of tree cultivation in their fields were honored by the Minister and dignitarie
