On World Environment Day Grasim unit celebrate the day at Argama village to spread awareness about tree plantation and saving the environment for future generations. More than 4000 plantation is planned on the Panchayat land under the programme supported by Grasim.
Grasim will support in providing fencing, sowing, giving water and urea and taking care of the plants till they flourish into big trees. The aim is to develop a small Grasim forest and it starts with sowing 100 plants on World Environment Day.
The programme was attended by Rakesh Choksi, Subodh Gautam, Ashok Gupta, Mr. Maheshwari, Prashant Parlikar, Argama Sarpanch Ayub Bhai, Wagra Forester P.C. Vasava, Kavita Gohil, Shakilbhai and others. Information was also given about the Grasim campaign by Dilip Karodia and others about the importance of trees and saving the environment.
Information was also given about CSR activities undertaken by Grasim and asked to plant more trees with people participation near the houses, open lands in villages. The programme was organised for the last five years by Grasim and villagers from Vilayat and nearby villages support the cause with great enthusiasm.
The organiser Mitesh Surti later thanked all for actively taking part in the initiative.
