32 plus floats of schools, religions and sports will take part in Shivji Ki Savari.

This year the Shivji Ki Savari will have a added attraction as the Shiv Parivar is all gold plated and bless the devotees on Mahashivratri in Vadodara. Around 32 plus floats of schools, religions and sports will take part in the procession of the Lord. This year organisers are also trying to include a float of EME displaying the arms to the people.

Shivji Ki Savari is one of the biggest programmes organised in the city for the past many years with floats of schools, religions and sports add the attractions during the procession. This year is special as first time the gold plated Shiv Parivar idols will be part of the Savari and bless the devotees.

As per tradition the procession will start from Runmukteshwar Mahadev temple in Pratapnagar with chants of HarHar Mahadev. Folk dance mandals, bands, dhol and other groups march ahead with the procession along with floats from schools, religions and sports. The chariot of Shiv Parivar will the centre of attraction due to its gold shine.

The procession will reach Mandvi Chowkhandi area where the Savari will be welcomed and then passing from Nyaymandir, Bhagatsinh Circle, Khanderao market and reach Sursagar for the Maha arti.

Famous artists like Kailash Kher, Osman Mir, Kumari Geeta Rabbari. Brijraj Gadhvi and Deepak Joshi will set the tempo of the Savari with their Bhajan Sandhya programmes before the Mahashivratri.

From 28th February to 9th March Shivratri Mela is also going to held at Navlakhi ground where 300 stalls will be put by the organisers to showcase handicrafts, Gruh Udyog and other items. A students amusement park will also be there for the visitors.
