The Ministry of External Affairs will be co-hosting “Second Gateway of India Geoeconomic Dialogue” with Gateway House on February 13-14 in Mumbai, an official said on Friday.

“This is India’s premier geoeconomics conference on the theme ‘Where Geopolitics Meets Business’ focused on building synergies between business and foreign policy,” said a Ministry of External Affairs statement.

Minister of State for External Affairs M.J. Akbar will participate in the inaugurate dialogue with his Bangladeshi counterpart Shahriar Alam.

The keynote address at the conference will be delivered by Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Belgium and Secretary General, International IDEA, and Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law and Justice and Minister of Electronics and Information.

On February 14, S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary, will be in conversation with C. Rajamohan, Director, Carnegie India.

The Dialogue will also feature panel discussions covering topics like Sovereign Funds, Global Taxation, Digital Economy, Indo-Pacific, India’s Defence-Industrial Base.

The inaugural edition of the Gateway of India Dialogue was held on June 13-14, 2016. The theme for the dialogue was ‘Where Geopolitics Meets Business’, same as this year’s.

Gateway House is a foreign policy think-tank established in 2009, to engage India’s leading corporations and individuals in debate on India’s foreign policy and its role in global affairs.
