Morning walkers celebrate the decision
Morning walkers arrived in large numbers for walking after the gardens and parks in Vadodara after closed down for six months during Covid 19 lockdown. In unlock 4 the corporation has decided to open the park strictly following the government guidelines.
There is a moment of happiness among the health enthusiasts as they reached the gardens including Sayajibaug and Ajwa Nimeta for a walk and rejuvenate themselves.
Walkers expressed satisfaction with the work done by the corporation as per the guideline of Covid-19 before starting the garden. The entire country was locked down to prevent the spread of the global Corona pandemic.
Now during the lockdown the government give relaxations to start business, offices, gyms and now gardens in phased manner. Morning walkers in Vadodara demand to open the gardens and now in Unlock 4 the VMC decided to start all the 250 small and big gardens in the city including Sayajibaug from today. Before the start the parks and garden department of the corporation sanitised the areas as per Covid 19 guideline. Certain guidelines are also issued for the people to follow which includes wearing compulsory face masks and maintain social distancing.
Morning walkers reached the gardens in good numbers along with the people selling tea snacks, refreshing ginger mint juice, immunity boosting Kadha outside the area. The gardens including Sayajibaug came to life after a six months lockdown in the country.
Morning walker Munnabhai Prajapati said, he is happy that the garden has been started by the corporation from today. Coming early in the morning for a walk refreshed him instantly and I feel rejuvenated.
The corporation has acted as per the guidelines of Covid-19, But walkers also have to follow the rules, including social distancing and wearing masks. He requested the corporation to keep temperature gun and sanitisers outside the garden and stop the suspicious outside the gate to prevent the spread of infection.
Another Walker Omoni Zariwala said, they are the group of around 300 morning walkers and comes to Sayajibaug for years. After the walk inside the garden they felt refresh for the whole day. As the gardens were closed in view of the Covid 19, they are eagerly waiting for them to open. Now as the gardens are open it gives them a much needed satisfaction and happiness to regain their health.
V.R. Chikhaliya from Parks and Gardens department of the VMC said, in Unlock 4 the parks and gardens starts with strict Covid 19 guidelines. Decision to open Ajwa and Nimeta, Sayajibaug zoo, planetarium, toy train, rides will be started in phased manner. All of them are sanitised and cleaned by the staff and a decision to open them will be taken soon.
The timings of garden will be from 6 to 10am in morning and 4 to 8pm in the evening. People are requested to follow the guidelines strictly which includes compulsory masks and maintain social distanacing.

VR, Park and Guard Officer, Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan. Sikhalia said 110 small and large guards, including Sayajibagh, Ajwa-Nimeta, were kept closed to prevent the spread of corona.
Now the gardens have been started as per the guideline of Unlock-4. However, Ajwa and Nimetana Gardens will be decided soon. Along with this, Zoo, Planetarium, Toytrain, Rides etc. will also be started in Sayajibagh soon. Starting the Garden
The garden has been cleaned and sanitized. All gardens, including Sayajibug, will be open from 6 to 10 in the morning and from 4 to 8 in the evening.
