Arrested by police for killing 8 policemen from Ujjain on Thursday

Wanted gangster Vikas Dubey arrested for killing 8 policemen shot dead in encounter after he tried to escape. The incident happened when the vehicle brought him back met with an accident and he tried to flee from there. He was arrested from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday and brought back to Kanpur.

Vikas Dubey main accused in killing eight policemen on 3rd July was arrested from Ujjain on Thursday. He was brought back to the state by Special Task Force when one of the vehicle of the cavalcade met with an accident and overturned. As per the STF officials he tried to escape after snatched a weapon from one of the policemen. He was asked to surrender but refused and started firing on the policemen chasing him. The team fired in self defence after which Vikas Dubey was injured and taken to the hospital where he died during treatment.

Four policemen are said to be injured after the STF vehicle overturned following heavy rains near Kanpur’s Sachendi area. They all have been admitted in the hospital for treatment.

Vikas Dubey was arrested outside a temple in Ujjain on Thursday by the police. He was wanted in killing eight policemen in July 3 shootout. A deputy superintendent of police, three sub-inspectors and four constables were killed in the raid to nab him.

UP police since then was on the manhunt to arrest him. They arrested many which includes his wife and son and policemen helped in his escape and shelter. The police increased the amount of the bounty on his head as Dubey was on the run following the killing of the policemen.
