GACL designates a complex at Vadodara as Coelho Complex

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL), one of the leading chlor-alkali and allied chemical manufacturers of India designated its one of the complexes at Vadodara in the honour of its first Managing Director Late S. J. Coelho on 20th January 2018 at Vadodara. On this occasion a book titled the 'Salt of The Earth The GACL Saga’ was also launched.

Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Gujarat and the Chairman of the Company Dr J.N. Singh was joined by Mrs Coelho, wife of Late Shri S.J. Coelho during the designation ceremony. All the past Chairmen and Managing Directors were also invited and felicitated for, their valuable contributions to the progress of the company.

Dr J.N. Singh along with other dignitaries then launched the book 'Salt of The Earth The GACL Saga’ covers the significant moments that shaped the Company to this stage. The past Chairmen, Managing Directors and other key decision makers were interviewed for this book.

Dr Sambrani, the author of the book was able to engage Mr S.J. Coelho, the first Managing Director of the Company, and tap his exceptionally rich and detailed memory, shortly before his unfortunate demise, which makes this book more meaningful. The book tries to engage its readers in managerial innovations and shortcomings.

Wife of Late S.J. Coelho thanked the Gujarat government for the honour and wish the company a lots of progress in the future. Dr. J.N. Singh present Chairman, R.N. Das and Mr. Mahapatra past Chairmen put focus on the company growth and thanked the employees, technocrats, and all others for their contribution.
