    Premier Futsal League made its debut on Friday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai and the it made quite the splash in its opener. The big football stars of the world like Ryan Giggs, Ronaldinho, Paul Scholes, Michel Salgado and Hernan Crespo all made appearances in the league’s first two games. The first edition comprises six franchises divided in two groups, which will battle for a spot in the final on 24th July in Goa.

    Day 2 of the event throws up the other two teams of the competition in the futsal field — Paul Scholes’ Bengaluru 5s and Michel Salgado’s Kochi 5s. Saturday’s first game sees Mumbai 5s go head-to-head with Kochi 5s, while the second game sees Kolkata 5s taking on Bengaluru 5s in Chennai.

    It is noted that The Indian Futsal player is the part of the Bengaluru franchise and is expected to get decent playing opportunities over the course of the tournament.
