Fourth class contact employees create ruckus over treatment of their supervisor

Put allegations on doctors for not attending him for hours

Family members and fourth class contract employees of Sayaji hospital create ruckus inside the hospital after their supervisor was not given treatment by the on duty doctors. They put allegations on doctors for not attending their supervisor for nearly one hour of admission after tested positive of Coronavirus.

About 400 fourth class employees are on duty in various departments including the Covid Center at Sayaji Hospital. Prakash Rathore is the Supervisor of the employees working on contract and oversees the operations carried out by the staff in various wards of the hospital, including the Covid Center. Prakash Rathore was taken to Sayaji hospital at 5 pm on Monday after he had difficulty in breathing where he was tested positive for Corona. He was then admitted to the Covid ward.

Supervisor Prakash Rathore has been admitted to Sayaji Hospital and a large number of employees, including the female contract employees gathered when they were informed that his Corona report was positive.

Supervisor Prakash Rathore’s brother alleged that his brother was admitted to Sayaji Hospital at 5 p.m. and till 12 midnight no treatment has been started by the doctors and only a tablet was given to him. He said it’s unfortunate that although his brother is the supervisor of the contract staff at Sayaji Hospital and he did not get proper treatment.

Employees who had gathered to admit Supervisor Prakash Rathore raised slogans against the hospital alleging that he was not getting proper treatment. They said they risked their lives everyday by taking care of patients which includes the Corona positive admitted in Covid Wards.

No facilities are given to them but they are doing their work with dediction. If they get tested then all of them will test positive of the virus. Their supervisor is currently admitted to the hospital and if he is not getting proper treatment then how much to expect if employees like them are admitted.

Sayaji Hospital Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Aiyyar said that Prakash Rathore is being treated on the fifth floor of the Covid Center at Sayaji Hospital. Adequate care is being taken by the doctors to ensure that he get proper treatment.

For them everyone is same and are being treated with care. Two days ago, contract workers went on strike over pay, so they called the contractor and trying to solve the issues.
