Former Mayor of Vadodara Sunil Solanki today presented gifts to the workers working in Khaswadi Cemetery to commemorate the wedding anniversary of his son as well his birthday. He honoured the Corona warriors with a shawl and saree for working in the cemetery day and night without worrying about their health and families.

As the cases of Corona increased in Vadodara city, many bodies were buried in the cemetery every day. In the early days, only two members of the family could attend the funeral and the workers of the Khaswadi cemetery stood with the families of the deceased at the funeral of all the bodies.

At one time the final rites of the deceased began on wooden pyre along with the gas pyre, cremations were performed all night. Even in the midst of such scary scenes, the staff of cemetery is on duty day and night.

While health workers, police personnel and media personnel across the country are being honored as Corona Warriors, such workers working 24 hours a day in cemeteries should also be honored as Corona Warriors.

On Wednesday former mayor Sunil Solanki celebrated his birthday as well as the wedding anniversary of his son by honouring the warriors. He gifted them shawls and sarees as a gratitude for their efforts in such challenging times.
