Presented a new Ford vehicle to equipp students with essential practical skills

In order to promote practical hands on training amongst students in the various technical fields of engineering, Vadodara based Parul university has join hands with Ford India. The University recently availed a brand new Ford vehicle presented by Ford India to the department of Engineering. The vehicle will go a long way in equipping the students with the essential practical skills related to the automobile manufacturing industry.

As part of corporate social responsibility, Ford has been making countless donations of various equipments and vehicles to some of the nation’s established engineering institutions. The company was making these donations under the banner of ‘taking education further’ by offering such academic aids, as a way of imparting the students essential practical training during the course of their academics.

The 1.2 litre vehicle, was handed to Parul University and is currently being utilised by the students of mechanical engineering and automobile engineering. The passenger vehicles were procured from Hungary and feature a left handed driving system which makes them ideal components for academic usage.

The company entered into an MoU with Parul University which facilitated this donation and also guaranteed the specific usage of this vehicle within the University campus to ensure the maximum benefit for the students. This Ford Figo will serve the vital purpose of being a tool for demonstrations during the student's workshops, experiments, practical sessions and research work. It will further go on to act as an instrumental element in bridging the ever-growing industry academia gap, as the University will be producing students who are well versed with the nitty-gritty of the industrial sector.

Several students of Parul University’s engineering institution have been coming up with significant technical innovations. A team from the department of automobile engineering recently received a grant of Rs 70000 for their cutting-edge innovation under the SSIP Gujarat. Another group of students from the department of Mechanical also received a grant of Rs 65000 in recognition of their project ‘Dawn’ for effective farming.

“As Parul University our main objective is to promote the practical application of knowledge especially within our engineering Institutions, and I am more than grateful to Ford Sanand for having a hand in making this a reality for us, and inspiring our students to take on the journey towards innovation,” said the University’s Provost, Dr M.N Patel.
