Seized quantity of black pepper, oil and cereals

Following information that inedible items were being sold, a team from the health department raided the Hathikhana market and Shiabag along with the police. They seized a quantity of black pepper, cereals and oil.

The health department of Vadodara Municipal Corporation had received definite information that inedible items were being sold in Hathikhana.  Following the information, six teams of officers from the Food and Safety Department of the Corporation’s Health Department raided the Hathikhana Market as well as in Shiabaug area with the team of Crime.

Checking was carried out at Madhuvan Traders, Lakshmi Traders, Sadguru Enterprise, Anand Enterprise and Parmeshwar Trading in Hathikhana Market. In which 102 kg of black pepper worth Rs 41,700 was seized. They also raided and checked the Gurudatt Bhandar on Shiabag Main Road, in which cans of cottonseed oil, vegetable oil and loose oil were seized. The health department took samples and sent them to the laboratory for analysis. The Food Safety Department on Thursday raided the Hathikha Grain Market and Shiabag Bazaar in a parallel manner, exposing the sale of inedible items by trade
