FJC-MSU student awarded Government of Gujarat’s Media Fellowship
In keeping with
the initiative to create awareness across the State about the social welfare
schemes and other benefits for the mass of the people, the Information
Department (Mahiti Khatu) of the Government of Gujarat reached out to the
Departments of Journalism and Communication in State Universities, requesting
details about the top ten students from the most recent graduating batch of
students.
From the profiles of around 60 students received from
five State Universities, and Gujarat Vidyapith, Devangi Gadhvi, who has
completed her post graduate degree in Master of Journalism and Mass
Communication (MJMC) from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, The
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in June 2019 , secured the fifth
position in the first merit list drawn, and the second position in the final
merit list -- declared on November 19, 2019. She has been awarded the
Government of Gujarat’s Media Fellowship for the year 2019-2020.
The Fellowship comprises a training placement in the
Information Department (Mahiti Khatu) of the Government of Gujarat at Vadodara
location (other awardees have been placed at different Information Department
offices all over Gujarat in urban as well as rural locations) , with
remuneration of Rs. 20,000/- per month. The period of the Fellowship begins
next month and entails orientation through reading material and hands-on
reportage and ground implementation of media campaigns through professional
journalistic and public relations approaches.
