A five and half foot crocodile was trapped inside the cage kept by Waghodia forest department and Vadodara Wildlife Rescue Trust early in the morning from the lake of Kumetha village in Waghodia taluka. The villagers were relieved after the crocodile was trapped.
Wildlife Rescue Trust president Arvind Pawar received a call from the sarpanch of Kumetha village in Waghodia taluka that two to three crocodiles are there inside the village lake and attacks goats, dogs, calves from time to time. In addition, the villagers cannot go to the lake to fetch water or wash clothes. They also reached near the village in search of food at night.
A cage was set up on the shore of the lake by the Wildlife Rescue Trust and a team from the Waghodia Forest Department to catch the crocodile. On Thursday a five-and-a-half-foot crocodile was trapped in the morning give much relief to the villagers.
Yuvraj Singh Rajput, Vishal Rathore and Waghodia Forest Department official J. P. Makwana reached there and safely removed the crocodile from the cage and handed over to the Waghodia Forest Department.
The villagers were relieved after the crocodile was caught. They said there are still two to three crocodiles in the lake and request the forest department to caught them as soon as possible.
According to Arvind Pawar, there are still two crocodiles in the lake of the village and the cage has been set up by the Waghodia Forest Department and Wildlife Rescue Trust to caught them.
