A Marathon runner is on a mission to create fitness culture in Vadodara and for the second straight year organise Run-Walkathon in Kamatibagh. The event is about to promote awareness and fitness among the friends and family and push them to healthy living.
The participants are all close friends and their family members and will run-walk to promote fitness. Before the event there is training activity for 10 Sundays for all. The organisers called it a family festival as it’s a event to promote fitness with fun.
“After the success in our first event we decide to organise it every year and this is our second straight year. There are 75 plus participants taking part in the event and get training for the last two months. There is a 2km loop and the participants will take rounds in 5km, 10km, 15km and 20kms. We called it a festival as all our friends and their family members walk/ run in kamatibagh with fun and spread the word of fitness,” said Sanjiv Shah organiser and motivator.
Sanjiv said that he himself is running for 12 years and wants to create the fitness culture in the city. “I run 19 full marathon and 50 to 60 half marathons in last 12 years of my running. I want to pass on to the next what I learnt in these years and also to create a running culture in the city. I called this event a platform to motivate the runners so that they can take part in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Mumbai Marathons in future,” added Shah.
