For the first time in the history 17,532 posts of constables will be filled by Gujarat police and for that there are new changes this year in the selection procedure.

The vacancies are for Police Constable/ Lokrakshak (male/female), SRP Constable (Male), Jail Sipahi (Male/Female/Matron) and for that the written exam will be later in this month.

Gujarat police is taking no chances and preparing to fill 17,532 posts of constables in the police constables/ lokrakshak (including SRP) and Jail Sipahi. The posts are for both male and female and this time the board made several changes in the process of recruitment.

"This year the candidates were called two hours earlier before the exam and for the first time biometric registration will be there at the center. For the registration their photograph and the impressions of Index finger of both the hands will be taken before the exam, said G.S. Malek IGP Vadodara range and Chairman Lok Rakshak Recruitment Board.

Added to this he said, for the first time three layer OMR sheet will be used in the written exam and utmost care will be taken to omit the cheating. Moreover the question papers are in 30 different series for the 30 candidates per room to prevent the cheating. There will be jumbled question answers to prevent copying at the centers.”

For the online applications the department received 8,42,335 applications and after scrutiny total 7,82,730 will appear for the exams on 23rd October 2016.
