Vadodara witnessed the first of its kind PCJ Queens Neon Run on Sunday evening where more than 3500 females of Vadodara participated in this event. The PCJ Queens Neon run was organized by Vadodara Marathon with a cause behind for creating awareness for breast cancer amongst the females of Vadodara. The event was followed by after party to entertain the participants and their family members. While a formal announcement of full marathon was announced by Vadodara Marathon.

The Queens Neon Run was flagged off by Rajmata Subhangini Devi Gaekwad and Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad at Ambalal Park ground on Sunday evening. Along with that, the senior advisor of Bill and Melinda Gates foundation also remain present the encourage the participants. MP Ranjanben Bhatt, Mayor Bharat Danger and Vaishnavaacharya Vrajrajkumar Mahoday also remain present on this occasion. Cricketer Yusuf Pathan also enthralled the crowd with his presence during the run.

The Neon colors, which are self illuminatory were used to create a jazz ambience , and at the same time, the participants colored their faces in neon colors and decorate themselves in Neon accessories. The five km run started from Ambalal park- Harni Water Tank- Sangam cross roads- Airport road- Muktanand cross roads and will return to Ambalal park . The race was transformed to a after party post the run.

The after party was heated up city stars like singing sensation Kavya Limayee and D.J. Yezad to create the party fever and enthralled the participants and their families. The winners of the fun run were divided into three categories, Princess (14-18) , Queen (18+) and Empress (50+).

During the neon run , Vadodara Marathon formally announced the full marathon to be organised on Feb,5th 2017. The 42.2 km full marathon will also have a 21km half marathon, divang run and 5km fun as categories.

“Vadodara Marathon is committed for the better health and fitness of barodians. Currently there is a rampant increase in breast cancer amongst the Indian women. We are trying to aware the women not avoid the checkups and be more aware about the disease. I am thankful to barodians for the magnificent response in Queens Neon Run and would request them to start preparations for full marathon,” said Tejal Amin Chairperson of Vadodara Marathon.

The run also propagate the message of Vadodara as Safe and Smart city and to spread the Mission Clean Vadodara.

However the women participants in the run are running on pre defined route on the city roads but they encountered traffic in between and made their way out between the vehicles.
