First death from Mucormycosis reported in Vadodara where a 70 years old lady died in a private hospital during Corona treatment. She started bleeding from her nose and lost sensation from her face during the treatment.

The elderly woman from Rajpipla was undergoing treatment for Corona at a private hospital died after suffering from Mucormycosis. The deadly disease now seems to be raising its head and after Ahmedabad this was the first case of death from Mucormycosis in Vadodara.

The old woman was admitted to the hospital at Dandia Bazar 10 days ago for treatment of corona. As per Dr. Jayesh Rajpara, three days ago she started bleeding from her nose and her reports were sent for testing. From the biopsy report she was diagnosed with Mucormycosis. She died during treatment.

Clinical symptoms of Mucormycosis were also observed in the elderly. With this in mind, her body samples have been sent for advance checking from which the whole matter will be further clarified. This is the first case of death from Mucormycosis in Vadodara city.

Dr. Jayesh Rajpara said people with low immunity are prone to this disease and this is the first case in his hospital. Many other cases are also detected in other hospitals of the city.
