Fire started in encroachment materials removed by VMSS near Chhani TP 13

A Sudden fire started in the encroachment materials removed by the Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan team near Someshwar Mahadev temple near Chhani TP-13.

Fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire with continuos flow of water. However the slum dwellers put allegations on the encroachment team for fire which the later denied and termed it as baseless.

About 20 families have been living in makeshift huts for years near the Someshwar Mahadev temple near Chhani TP 13 in the city. Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan had earlier issued notices to the slum dwellers to vacate but they did not respond and continue to live there. Meanwhile the encroachment team started removing the illegal huts and on Saturday a mysterious fire broke out in the materials which took everyone by surprise.

The fire brigade was called and then controlled the fire with continuous flow of water. No casualties or injuries was reported in the fire.

Officer Fatabhai Baria said the slum dwellers lived in a government premises comes under the corporation’s administrative ward No. 7. The encroachment has been removed on the instructions of North Zone Officer Rohin Wahiya. The fire starts of suddenly and they took help of fire brigade to douse the flames.
