Fire service day observed in Vadodara

Observed the day in memory of firemen gave their life in line of duty

Almost every date in the month is related to some day and 14th April is one such historical one. The day is celebrated as Ambedakar Jayanti but less people know about the day also marks the celebrations of Fire service day by all fire brigade services.

Vadodara fire services also observed the day with a two minute silence in memory of the firemen gave their life in the line of duty. The day is celebrated everywhere in tribute to the 66 firemen died during fire fighting and rescue operations at Mumbai port in 1944.

During the programme firemen are honoured for their meritious services by the commissioner Ajay Bhadoo in presence of chief fire officer and other officials. The day is dedicated to the firemen working tirelessly in hazardous situations to save lives of the people without thinking of their own safety. Various awareness programmes are also organised in the day and thought out the week for the people to know their fire services.
