Mucormycosis the side effect of Corona is more challenging in the second wave and the doctors have to work harder to save the affected organs and lives of patients.
Head of the Department of Nose, Ear and Throat of Sayaji Hospital and Medical Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Aiyar said that as on June 10, 446 admitted patients have been given the necessary treatment for the disease and 710 surgeries of various organs have been performed to counteract the effects of the disease in the patients. Currently, in addition to the ear, nose and throat department, specialist doctors in departments such as eye, dental, plastic surgery, medicine, microbiology, radiology, anesthesia, contribute to the treatment of the patient with integrated teamwork according to the extent and prevalence of this fungal disease. Thus, more than one medical discipline is involved in the treatment of this disease, almost like Corona.
