Fearing the Corona virus, Vadodara revenue officials have boycotted direct repatriation operations as they came direct contact with the people going to their native states. The Revenue Employees Federation gives a application to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister of the State, Chief Secretary of the State and Additional Chief Secretary through the District Collector. It is to be noted that panic has spread among revenue employees after the death of a revenue officer in Ahmedabad due to corona virus.

Bharatbhai Dabhi President of Vadodara Revenue Employees Federation said, the Vadodara wing of the Gujarat State Revenue Employees Federation gives application through the District Collector, to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary about not working in direct contact with the people heading to their native places. They fear about getting the infection due to direct exposure. Therefore, unless precautionary measures are taken, the revenue employees of Vadodara have decided not to come into direct contact with the people in work to send them home.

The application further states that a presentation was made to the State Government on 13-5-020 regarding the ticket money collected from the people to send them home. They proposed that the money be taken directly by the Ministry of Railways, But no decision has been taken in this regard and they continue their work.

In addition, the transportation of these people is under the control of RTO and in many other works related to other departments. However the revenue department is carried out all the work putting their lives at risk and the government is not taking any precautions which is a serious matter. A revenue employee has lost his life in Ahmedabad and many others have contacted the virus. They demand the government to take action in the matter and until then they will not work in the area of sending the people from outside states to their homes.
