City received heavy rains accompanied with strong winds on Tuesday
The effects of "Tau-te" cyclone started in Vadodara from this morning. Rains started In many places since morning accompanied by winds at an average speed of 50 to 60 kmph.
Trees uprooted and hoardings fell at many places were reported in the city. In one such incident a father son duo was injured after a hoarding put up at Jambuva area fell on them. They were taken to Sayaji hospital and under treatment.
Hurricane "Tau-te" which was wreaking havoc all over Gujarat also started causing loss of life and property in Vadodara city-district. The reception hoardings put up by Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan near Jambua at the entrance to city collapsed in the rain with heavy winds that started this morning. Ganesh Chhaganbhai Parmar and his son Hitendra Parmar, both residents of Aryan Society near Jambua village, were injured when hoarding fell on them.
They were going to their home in Jambua on a motorbike after filling a jug of water, when the hoarding suddenly fell on them. The locals rushed to the spot rescued them and shifted to hospital for treatment. Fire brigade teams also reached and opened the road by removing the debris of the hoardings fallen on the road.
In addition, an old building in Patthargate Madanzampa Road collapsed due to strong winds. People rushed to the spot and informed the fire bridage. They along with GEB team reached the spot and began operations to remove the debris.
Along with this, the barricades put around the refilling oxygen plant installed at Navlakhi ground fell down in dusty and the strong winds. There were reports of trees being uprooted in many areas of the city.
