Minaben Sachinbhai Chunara, a resident of Satyayug Colony behind Pratap Road Vihar Talkies in the city, has been undergoing pregnancy treatment at Vedanta Hospital situated near Sulemani Chaal for the last six months. On Thursday morning she was rushed to the hospital after her health deteriorated. She later gave birth to a baby and died during treatment.

The family of Minaben  were shocked to learn about the death and put allegations on the doctors for their negligence. As they create ruckus there hospital informed the Panigate police who rushed to the spot and control the situation.

Sachin Chunara husband of the deceased said, they rushed her to the hospital in the morning after her health deteriorated. Later she gave birth to a healthy child which brought smiles on our faces. But they were shocked to hear that his wife died after sometime. He put allegations on the doctor for their negligence.

Another relative Vijendrabhai said,  Meenaben was under treatment for pregnancy at Vedanta Hospital for the last six months. All sorts of reports, including Corona, were taken out by the hospital, which were normal as said by the hospital.

She was brought to the hospital two days ago for checking and the doctors then said that there was still a ten-days time in delivery. Meanwhile on Thursday morning Meenaben health deteriorated and they brought her to the hospital at 7 am. Seeing her condition the hospital go ahead with the delivery where she gave birth to a healthy boy. But to their shock she died after some time.

Vijendrabhai further said that the doctors told them that Minaben had a normal delivery, but the fact is that they use vacuum for the delivery and she died of excessive bleeding.

He allege that doctor should have sought permission about doing caesarean section or vacuum, but they have not taken any permission. They put the doctors responsible for the death and demand justice.

Dr. Nirav Shah of Vedanta Hospital said, Minaben Chunara has been undergoing pregnancy treatment at their hospital for the last 7-8 months. The patient has a normal delivery at 9 in the morning.

At 10 o’clock she complained of breathlessness and the patient was put on oxygen. All necessary treatment was carried out, but the difficulty in breathing continued. In medical term this disorder is called embolism, which has no medicine. They were helpless and could not save the woman. The exact cause of death will come out after postmortem. They have also asked for a postmortem of the woman.

Regarding the family member’s allegation that the woman died due to a vacuum delivery, the doctor said that the woman’s delivery was conducted by him only. Vacuum delivery is normal delivery and it is used in the final stage of process.

The baby is healthy and this means the allegations are not true. Let the postmortem report come and he is ready to answer.

Minaben’s husband Sunilbhai Chunara has lodged a complaint at the Panigate police station. Police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the incident. Further investigation is on in the matter.
