Hindu Muslim leaders performed last rites of a beggar

As an example of humanity, Hindu Muslim leaders performed last rites of a Muslim beggar died here on Monday. He died of natural causes and the leaders performed his rites at the crematorium.

A beggar named Abdulbhai Dewan used to make a living by begging at the bus stop at Karelibagh Bhutdizampa bus stand and stayed there. The people of the area were well acquainted with Abdul Dewan as he was begging in the Bhutdizampa area. He died of natural causes due to his old age on Monday.

The news of his death reached local Muslim leaders, local shopkeepers as well as Adeshnathji of the Ganganathji Satnath sect and they reached the spot. Hindu-Muslim got together and performed the final rites of the Muslim beggar and gives an excellent example of religious harmony and humanity. The locals could not hold back their tears as Hindus and Muslims rushed to perform the last rites in honour of a homeless beggar.

The local Hindu-Muslim people laid flowers at the beggar’s body and paid homage and prayed for the peace of the departed soul. Karelibagh police were also reached when the incident was reported and began investigation. The death of beggar Abdul Rahim became a topic of discussion in the Bhutdizampa area.
