In the case of corruption, the former prime minister of Bangladesh and opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been sentenced to five years in prison. This case is of corruption in the Orphanage Trust. In the case of Khalida, the case was registered in 2008. After the verdict, security has been extended throughout Bangladesh.

Elections will be held soon in Bangladesh, in view of bilateral relations, India will also keep an eye on this matter. This decision can have major impact on Bangladesh’s politics. Because after Khaleda was sentenced to more than two years, she will not be able to participate in the next election. Sheikh Hasina’s party will get the direct benefit.

Before the decision Khaleda Zia said that she is ready for any kind of order. It is absolutely useless to give threats to jail, I am not going to bend.

He said that I will continue to strengthen my voice in the right of people.
