First time in the 40 years history of Vadodara city, Ramleela will be held without Ravan Dahan. The decision is taken in view of the Covid 19 situation and safety of the artists. This time only 60 artists will perform Ramleela in one and half hours performance on 15th October on the ocassion of Dusherra.
North Indian Cultural Association (NICA) Vadodara is known for organising Ramleela on grand stage every year features nearly 150 artists at one stage. The Ravan Dahan and cracker show is one of the highlight during the celebration attended by people in big numbers.
However Corona pandemic put brakes on the celebration and the event was not held last year. However this year due to government relaxation only Ramleela will be organised at small scale with sixty artists playing the popular characters.
"First time the Ramleela will be organised without Ravan Dahan in view of the Covid situation. Only sixty artists will play popular characters and it includes new artists. Some social issues like unity, terrorism is also highlighted during the performance. This time we give chance to upcoming artists to play main characters in the Ramleela, " Said Pravin Gupta President NICA.Ramleela without Ravan Dahan in Vadodara
