T-Series (Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited) is an Indian record label and film production company founded by Gulshan Kumar on July 11, 1983. Bollywood soundtracks and Indi-pop music are its most well-known genres. T-Series is India's largest music record label, with up to 35 percent of the Indian music market in 2014. Sony Music India and Zee Music are the next largest. T-Series is best renowned for its music, but company has also had some success in the film industry.

T-Series was founded by Kumar, who began his career as a fruit juice vendor in Delhi, to sell pirated Bollywood songs before expanding into new music production. Anand-soundtrack Milind's for the 1988 Bollywood hit Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, became one of the best-selling Indian music albums of the 1980s, selling over 8 million copies. They finally became a significant music label with the release of Aashiqui (1990), penned by Nadeem–Shravan, which sold 20 million copies and became the best-selling Indian soundtrack record of all time. Gulshan Kumar, on the other hand, was slain by the Mumbai criminal gang D-Company on August 12, 1997. Since then, his son Bhushan Kumar and younger brother Krishan Kumar have led T-Series.
