A Mumbai court, on Monday, granted the custody of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drugs case, to the NCB till October 7 (Thursday).

Refusing bail, the court reportedly said, "I am of the view that investigation is of prime importance. Considering this aspect, the presence of the accused with NCB is necessary." The court observed that this benefits both the accused and the investigating agency.

Media reports suggested that Khan and others were in tears as the court denied them bail.

Appearing for Khan, advocate Satish Maneshinde had told the court that no substance was seized from his client by the NCB. He had promised that his client would cooperate with the NCB probe if granted bail.

The probe agency argued that unless they question the consumer of the substance, "how do we know who is the supplier, who is financing it," and sought nine-day custody of the accused.

The NCB detained Aaryan Khan and seven others after it raided a cruise ship here and busted a drugs party. They were arrested later. The sleuths seized 13 gm of cocaine, 5 gm of MD, 21 gm of charas and 22 pills of Ecstasy and Rs 1.33 lakh.
