The film 'Noorani Chehra,' starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nupur Sanon, premiered on Monday. Navaniat Singh will helm the film, which is described as a "quirky love storey" with a strong social message about being comfortable in your own skin.
Panorama Studios, Wild River Pictures, and Pulp Fiction Entertainment are producing the film. The goal of 'Noorani Chehra,' according to Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman and Managing Director of Panorama Studios, was to create a picture that would make the audience laugh as well as ponder.
"In times when subjects like skin colour, body positivity and baldness have emerged in mainstream story-telling, it was time for a film to tackle a subject about looks head-on and share a worthy message!
"We are happy to announce a fresh Bollywood pairing of Nawazuddin and Nupur for this unique romance," Pathak, who has produced films like "Raid" and "Ujda Chaman", said in a statement.
According to Siddiqui, the upcoming film "looks are a matter of perception" and "holds up a mirror to one of society's major misconceptions."
Singh expressed his delight at the prospect of directing the film alongside the "Sacred Games" actress and Nupur Sanon, actor Kriti Sanon's younger sister.
"They are the most mismatched couple I could have found who will turn out to be the perfect match. And V-Day is the best day to get started," the filmmaker said.
Nupur Sanon expressed her delight at the prospect of working with Siddiqui in her maiden film. Kumar Mangat Pathak, Aarushi Malhotra, Nandini Sharma, Neeta Shah, and Bharatkumar Shah are the producers of "Noorani Chehra."
