Kavita Chaudhary of 'Udaan' fame dies due to cardiac arrest

Udaan actor Kavita Chaudhary, known for playing Kalyani Singh in the 1989 television show died of cardiac arrest. She was 67. She was battling cancer for years.

Chaudhary was also known as Lalitaji in the Surf detergent commercials in India in the late 1980s. The actor is survived by Sayal and her niece.

Chaudhary did not only act in Udaan but also wrote and directed it. She has also produced shows on Doordarshan like Your Honour" and "IPS Diaries".

The series also starred Shekhar Kapur. The critically-acclaimed show was brought back on Doordarshan for a re-run during the pandemic. Actor Amit Behl paid tribute to the actor.
