Amid social media calls to boycott the upcoming Bollywood fantasy adventure drama Brahmastra: Part One Shiva, Karan Johar, while wishing the director of the movie, Ayan Mukerji on his birthday, said it is not possible to predict what the future holds for the movie.

Brahmastra features Ranbir Kapoor as the titular hero Shiva, and Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in key roles.

One of the reasons cited for the call to boycott the movie is Bachchan, during an episode of the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati saying ghoonghat is regressive.

Brahmastra is a joint production of Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures. The movie will release theatrically in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on September 9.
