On Monday, February 7, 2022, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar met with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM home in Dehradun.
Following the visit, Dhami stated that Akshay Kumar will serve as Uttarakhand's brand ambassador.
"We had given him (Akshay Kumar) a proposal, he has accepted it. He will also work as a brand ambassador of Uttarakhand," Dhami was quoted as saying.
Akshay was also gifted a cap by Dhami.
The actor also wished Dhami luck in the forthcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections during their meeting.
Akshay Kumar is currently filming his upcoming film in the hill state.
The superstar had also released a short film on his social media sites earlier in the day.
"What else is being in love?! We call Uttarakhand Devbhoomi for a reason. Have shot in the most exotic locations in the world but Mussoorie," he wrote.
The actor recently revealed that his forthcoming action-adventure film "Ram Setu" will hit theatres on Diwali. Kumar plays an archaeologist in "Ram Setu," directed by Abhishek Sharma of "Parmanu" and "Tere Bin Laden" fame. Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha also star in the film.
Meanwhile, with only a few days to the Uttarakhand elections, Dhami is campaigning door-to-door in various regions of the state.
The elections in Uttarakhand are set to take place on February 14 and the results will be released on March 10.
