The sequel to the 2019 hit film De De Pyaar De, titled De De Pyaar De 2, has officially begun filming in Mumbai.
Sources confirmed that the team commenced shooting with a traditional Mahurat Puja ceremony.
Actor Anil Kapoor added a special touch to the occasion by gracing the event and giving the ceremonial first clap.
De De Pyaar De 2 will be directed by Anshul Sharma, a new name at the helm compared to Akiv Ali who directed the first installment. Production duties are being shared by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, alongside Luv Films' Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
The first film starred Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in an unconventional love story. Devgn played a man in his 50s who falls for a woman in her 20s, played by Singh.
Tabu portrayed Devgn's ex-wife, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative. While there's no confirmation yet on Tabu's return for the sequel, rumours suggest she might reprise her role.
