Election commission to make special arrangements for special categories of electors

Assembly Elections declared by EC in five states Assam, Kerela, Puducherry, Tamilnadu and West

bangal. The Election Commission of India has taken various steps for particularly the special categories

of voters in terms of ease, comfort and facilitation.

In certain areas where women folk feel inhibited in mingling with male members due to social

practice or custom, in those areas separate polling station for men and women with separate queues for

any gender would be provided.

Special arrangements will be set up by EC for old persons, infirm persons and pregnant women

at the polling stations. And for the differently abled electors wheelchairs and temporary ramps

provided for them.
