The election awareness train Kamakhya express flagged of from Guwahati finally reached Vadodara on Friday night where the election officials welcome it on the station. Special awareness programmes organised at the platform for the passengers to create awareness about voting.

Election Commission is taking every steps to engage maximum participation of the people to celebrate the largest festival of democracy and vote for sure. Indian railways also help in the awareness campaign and running the Kamakhya express train with election messages written all over.

After nearly six hours delay the election train (Kamakhya express) reached Vadodara spreading the message of voting. The bogies are all decorated with voting awareness messages and caught the attention of passengers instantly. The Kamakhya Gandhidham express train was flagged off from Guwahati and spreads the important messages related to elections and request every citizen to vote in the Loksabha elections.

The aim is to engage maximum participation of people specially youths to vote for a better democracy and good governance. This initiative comes under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.

“It’s a joint effort by the election commission and Indian railways to spread the message through Kamakhya express to engage maximum participation of people in voting. The train reached Vadodara spreading the messages of awareness for voting. The election commission also displays posters and standies at the station and we are trying to reach maximum people through our campaign to spread awareness about using their voting rights, ” said Shalini Agarwal District Collector and chief election officer Vadodara.
