Foreign ministry and post department decides to start Passport related services in main post office and selected post offices in India. Many of the post offices already starts the service.
In the first phase 86 post offices were selected to start the passport service centres and many of the post offices already started the services. The services are in progress to start in the rest 34 centres of the first phase.
Now the government proposed to start the passport service centres in 149 post offices. With the implementation of the second phase the number of centres will be increased to 235 in the country.
In Gujarat Anand, Bharuch, Bhavanagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kheda, Navsari and Valsad is selected among the second phase of 149 post offices to start the passport service centres.
