University Grants Commission , UGC has issued innovative pedagogical approaches to avoid gaps in the teaching and learning process.

The guidelines have been released on pedagogical approaches such as experiential learning, cutting edge pedagogy, art integrated learning, flipped classroom etc.

UGC mentioned that schools and colleges have adopted different teaching methods such as offline, online and hybrid but it has said that there is a need to revise and adopt appropriate pedagogy methods

These guidelines on pedagogy have been formulated in line with the National Education Policy 2020.

Further the notice stated that Innovative pedagogical approaches positively impact student learning, behavior and attitudes and are capable of ensuring that all students achieve the defined course/programme learning outcomes and demonstrate the expected graduate attributes.

There are four broad categories of pedagogical approaches named - Behaviourism, Constructivism, Social Constructivism, and Liberationist.

As per the guidelines, the NEP 2020 proposes that HEIs should adopt continuous and comprehensive evaluation rather than high stake examinations.

The University Grants Commission encourages formative and competency-based assessment "for developing higher-order thinking skills such as creativity, critical thinking and analysis.

The students and teachers can go through the guidelines for innovative pedagogical approaches evaluation reforms.
