The Telangana government has declared a holiday for all primary and secondary schools on Monday, September 2, in response to ongoing heavy rainfall and forecasts of more to come.

This decision applies to all schools, regardless of management, including public, aided, and private ones.

Parents and guardians have been urged to stay informed about weather conditions in order to keep their children safe during this time.

Initially, the holiday announcement was limited to the Hyderabad region, but it was subsequently extended to cover the entire state.

The news was confirmed through the official account of the Collector & District Magistrate of Hyderabad District, Telangana, on X (formerly Twitter).

Additionally, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that all educational institutions, both government and private, will remain closed across Telangana on September 2, 2024, due to heavy rains.

The minister also stated that all government department holidays have been canceled.

The recent heavy rains have caused significant flooding and disruption across Telangana and the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh.
