Over 14,600 faculty positions vacant in HEIs managed by central govt: Education ministry

On Monday, the Lok Sabha was informed that over 14,600 faculty positions were vacant in higher education institutions (HEIs). 

Responding to a written question, Subhas Sarkar said the ministry had directed all central higher education institutions to fill vacancies in a mission mode.

According to reports, there are 14,606 faculty vacancies in HEIs under the ministry.
