Incentive prizes awarded by the Minister of Education to the principals of the three best schools of state

Under the 'Best School Incentive Reward' scheme launched by the state government from the year 2013-14 to give incentive prizes to the best schools with the objective of taking the quality of schools in the state to the best level. The prizes were given to the three best schools selected by the state education minister, In which Rs. 5 lakh was given to the first ranked school, Rs. 3 lakh to the second ranked school and Rs. 2 lakh to the third ranked school.

With the intention of motivating the district-state level schools to become the best schools, the state government has implemented a scheme to give incentive prizes to the best schools from the year 2013-14. Every year, under the Best School Incentive Reward Scheme, Rs 1 lakh is given as a prize. The first ranked school at the district level is selected for the state level competition, then the first, second and third best schools of the state level are selected among the first ranked schools in all the districts. At the state level, the first selected school gets Rs. 5 lakh, the second selected school gets Rs. 3 lakh and similarly the third ranked school will get Rs. 2 lakh is given as prize.

In the year 2020-21, a total of 62 schools have got the benefit of this scheme at the district level. Among them, the principals of three schools selected at the state level were given certificates and trophies by the Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. The first selected Shri Matruchhaya Kanya Vidyalaya at Bhuj in Kutch district received Rs. 5 lakh, the second selected Shri GM Patel Kanya Vidyalaya at Dhrol in Jamnagar district received Rs. 3 lakh and the third selected Vivekananda higher school in Waghodia of Vadodara district received an incentive prize of Rs. 2 lakh and its administrators were honored by the minister.

On this occasion, the Commissioner of Schools, S.A. Patel, Joint Director of Education HN Chavda as well as principals of schools selected by the state under this scheme were present.
