IGNOU launches online bachelor's programme in social work

The School of Social Work at Indira Gandhi National Open University has started an online Bachelor of Social Work programme. The training is designed for those who want to provide professional assistance to those in need.

The programme is open to anyone who has completed class 12 or an equivalent grade. The BSW graduates will have the opportunity to work in socially relevant areas.

The School of Social Work at Indira Gandhi National Open University has started an online Bachelor of Social Work programme. The training is designed for those who want to provide professional assistance to those in need. Candidates interested in applying can do so online at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.

The programme is open to anyone who has completed class 12 or an equivalent grade. BSW graduates could work in fields such as healthcare, community development, education, industry, counselling, family, correctional settings, social defence, women, children, mental health fields, and disability sectors, etc

This training will be especially beneficial to those working or seeking work in NGOs, INGOs, CSR, and other advocacy fields. It will also be beneficial to new candidates interested in working in the social and family welfare sectors, among others.

Meanwhile, IGNOU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to combine vocational education and training with higher education. The agreement's goal is to create avenues for work opportunities for India's young while also strengthening the country's vocational and technical training framework.
